Privacy Policy
Last updated: 16 October 2026
This policy explains what information Depth Diggers handles and what happens to it. It covers the game on Windows (including the Steam version) and on Android (Google Play), the free demo, and the feedback and community links inside the game.
Who we are
Depth Diggers is developed by Andrés López del Olmo, an independent developer based in Spain who publishes as "Uddor". He is the data controller for the purposes of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Summary
Depth Diggers does not ask for your name, your email or an account. The game does not send your gameplay data anywhere: your progress and statistics stay on your device. We don't sell data, and the game shows no ads and doesn't track you for advertising. The website does show Google ads; see "This website and its advertising" below. Some services you may use around the game (Steam, Google Play, the feedback form, Discord) handle data under their own policies.
Data stored on your device
The game keeps a few files on your device. They never leave it unless you send them yourself.
- Windows / Steam:
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Uddor\Depth Diggers - Android: the game's private storage on your phone or tablet, which other apps can't read
| File | What it contains | Why |
|---|---|---|
Save file (depthdiggers_save.json and a backup copy) | Your progress: materials, upgrades, relics, bosses, achievements, tutorial state, audio, language and display settings | To keep your game between sessions |
| Local play log (telemetry file) | Gameplay events such as session start and end, expeditions, upgrades bought, bosses defeated, buildings visited, average click rate, and a note if a cheat attempt was detected | To help you report bugs and balance problems if you choose to share it |
The play log contains no name, email, IP address or hardware identifiers. It rotates when it reaches 5 MB.
You can delete these files at any time. On Windows, delete that folder; uninstalling through Steam may leave it in place. On Android, uninstalling the game or clearing its storage in your device settings removes them.
We only see the play log if you attach it yourself to a bug report or to the feedback form.
The Unity engine
Depth Diggers is made with the Unity engine. We have not enabled any of Unity's optional services in the game: no Unity Analytics, no cloud crash reporting, no ads and no in-app purchases.
The engine itself may still send limited technical information to Unity Technologies, such as basic device details and your IP address. Unity handles that data as an independent controller under its Game Player and App User Privacy Policy. We do not receive it.
Services outside the game
These services are run by other companies. When you use them, they collect data under their own privacy policies, not this one. The game only opens their pages in your web browser when you click or tap a button.
| Service | When it applies | What it may collect | Their policy |
|---|---|---|---|
| Steam (Valve) | Buying, downloading and playing the game on PC | Your Steam account, purchases, playtime and system information | Valve Privacy Policy |
| Google Play (Google) | Buying, downloading and updating the game on Android | Your Google account, purchases, device information and app usage | Google Privacy Policy |
| Google Forms | Only if you tap "Send feedback" and fill in the form | Your answers, plus anything you choose to add, such as an email or the play log | Google Privacy Policy |
| Discord | Only if you tap "Join the Discord" | Your Discord account and the messages you post | Discord Privacy Policy |
| itch.io | Only if you downloaded the demo there | Your itch.io account and download data | itch.io Privacy Policy |
We receive the answers you send through the feedback form and can see the messages you post on our Discord server. We use them only to fix bugs and improve the game, and we never ask for more personal data than you choose to share.
This website and its advertising
depthdiggers.com shows advertising through Google AdSense to help fund the game. The game itself does not show ads; this section only covers the website.
Google and its advertising partners use cookies and similar technologies to show ads, limit how often you see them and measure their performance. Depending on your choice, the ads can be personalised based on your visits to this and other websites. Google processes this data as an independent controller under the Google Privacy Policy; you can read how Google uses data from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, a consent message from Google lets you accept or reject personalised ads and cookies before any are used. You can change your choice at any time with the "Privacy and cookie settings" link that Google shows on the page. You can also manage personalised advertising in your Google ad settings.
Apart from the advertising, the site uses no analytics. Its fonts and images are served from this site. The company hosting the site may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses and the pages requested, for security and to keep the site running.
Why we use feedback data and for how long
When you send us feedback or a bug report, we process it because you chose to send it (your consent) and because we have a legitimate interest in fixing and improving the game. We keep feedback for as long as it is useful for development, and delete it on request.
Children
Depth Diggers is suitable for all ages, but we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 14, the age of digital consent in Spain. If you believe a child has sent us personal data through the feedback form or Discord, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you, to restrict or object to its use, or to receive a copy of it. You can withdraw consent at any time. Email [email protected] and we will reply within one month.
If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Spanish data protection authority, the Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, or to the authority in your own country.
Changes to this policy
If the game starts to collect or send any new data, for example through Steam or Google Play achievements, cloud saves, ads, in-app purchases or online features, we will update this policy before that version is released and change the date at the top. Any remote data collection would require your clear consent first.
